Never did the world make a queen of a girl who hides in houses and dreams without traveling.”

Florence safe city for solo female travelers

Florence is the classic human scale city and is also considered an extremely safe city for solo female travellersOur B&B is perfect for those travelling alone or with friends. The central location of our B&B facilitates safety, as the centre is always busy and well policed.

Every season offers different emotions and walking in the centre allows you to enjoy an authentic Florence, frequented by Florentines who return home and like to linger to look at a shop window, run a last errand in a bookshop or have an aperitif; the historic cafés in Piazza Repubblica, a stone’s throw from the B&B offer a perfect blend of innovation and tradition.

A few minutes walking distance there is the Santa Maria Nuova hospital, the oldest hospital in Europe with an excellent First Aid service (with English-speaking staff) and a museum tour inside.

Founded in 1288 by Folco Portinari, father of the famous Beatrice, Dante’s beloved, in the late 15th century it housed a school of human anatomy directed by Leonardo da Vinci.

Therefore, a room named after Dante, the father of the Italian language, could not be missing!

And how could we not mention the world of Italian fashion?

Italian Fashion was in fact born in Florence in 1951 with the first fashion exhibition organised by Giovanni Battista Giorgini at Villa Torrigiani, an event repeated the following year in the Sala Bianca of Palazzo Pitti.

To mention just a few of the places you absolutely must visit during your stay dedicated to fashion, we recommend the Fashion and Costume Museum in Palazzo Pitti, the Ferragamo Museum dedicated to the creations of the ‘shoemaker of dreams‘ and the Gucci Garden Gallery in the 15th-century Palazzo della Mercanzia in Piazza della Signoria.
